Too easy

(I wonder if I like my men like I like my plums...)
And I wandered for some time in an orchard of plum trees - ripe purple globes hung heavy on the branches. My fingers shook with lust to feel the plump flesh on my fingertips. My lips quivered in anticipation of kissing smooth plum skin. I reached out to pick one
and it fell too easily into my palm. I let it drop, fearing that there is something wrong
with a tree that yielded it’s sweets to easily and set my sights to fruit on branches higher than I can reach.

And if you're too easy, too soft, too sweet....

Fool's errandI am attracted to broken glass shattered crystal reflecting back the energy of what could have been- what once had been - brilliance.
I'll be a martyr to this cause though I know at best it is a lost one and at worst I will end up as a thousand bits of blackened coal consumed in a blaze that was far too hot to consume me whole.

(too bad when you wake up, you won’t remember any of it)
When the sun creeps up the stairs Backwards slanting like a McCall's page from 1929; When it slides past the doormat And slinks over the sill, A small line of light tiptoes across the floor Over my blanket And onto your face.    It dances White and gold Over eyelashes On top of lips And in the half empty bottle lying sideways next to you on the floor. Late night

Inspiration is such a fleeting thing to find. These past few days have been hard for me, back at school for winter quarter. I guess its the rootless feeling, and the loneliness thats doing me in. I won't be surprised if I rise above the mundane in my writing this week. Lets hope for my sake I find something to anchor me.
